I think my presentation went well overall even though it was pretty nerve wracking standing in front of so many people and talking. I am glad that I practiced my presentation several times before the actual presentation because it was easy to just go into autopilot and not think too much about what I was saying or the stressful situation. At first I was very nervous, but after the first couple of minutes I calmed down a little bit. Continue reading
Thank you for volunteering to be an evaluator of my WISE project. This semester I chose Graphic Design as my WISE topic. I have spent the past few months interning at Veneer Interactive Design Studio in North Berkeley and working on freelance design projects. An interactive design studio helps companies create their brand identity and website. The designers at Veneer design logos, websites, business cards, newsletters, business names, product names, slogans, videos, product packaging, promotional items and just about anything else you can think of that would help a company show off to its customers what it does, who it is, and the values it stands for.
While you are reading my journal, please highlight and take notes on this rubric: HERE and bring the rubric to my presentation. Also, please be sure to read the informational sheet. Feel free to read the comments that my teach has made on the blog, but please write your comments on your rubric. Continue scrolling to find each of my journal entries. You can also click on the ride hexagon icon in the top right corner to view a menu of every entry. If you are short on time, the entries with * next to them are the most important entries to read.
See you on Thursday May 14th at 7:00 PM at the Miramonte library for my presentation! Thanks again for being an evaluator! If you have any questions don’t hesitate to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you!
My main goal for the upcoming WISE semester is to experience the environment of a real design studio. Throughout the semester I also aim to get better at design and improve my social skills in a professional setting. Continue reading

The chapter cites the main influences of modern design (modern as in the “modernist” art movement, not current design) Art Nouveau, Cubism, Futurism, Dadaism, Surrealism, Constructivism, Art Deco, De Stijl and Bauhaus.
Before I continue with this journal I want to explain the environment of the office, all the people who work at Veneer, what their roles are and how the firm is structured. The office is pretty small and open. It has a very collaborative environment Continue reading
I realize that I never wrote about last Thursday (2/12/2015). When I got to the office EVERYONE was there. Usually there are more people in the office on Thursdays then on Mondays, but I have never been there when basically every employee was there. Everyone was in crunch mode, frantically working on things and talking on the phone. Continue reading
This weekend I worked a lot on the Wishers and Dreamers website. The two main things I want to change about the current Wishers and Dreamers site is the blue to white gradient in the background and the header with the links to the other pages. Continue reading
